My Passion
Passionate About Learning & Exploring
There is more to the ocean than sports and joy; it embodies a very powerful symbol to me. It is the source of unlimited energy and opportunities. It is how I experience life as a whole and how I see every single organisation or group of people I work with.
I try to learn new things every year. I am not perfect in any of them and I am content with my imperfections. Every new skill I learn assists me in learning more about myself and people around me. A new language, sport and other related abilities or business subjects. Portuguese, Tai Chi and surf skating are the latest. I love to travel with my family in our campervan and spend time in the nature. I love riding my adventure bike along the ocean or hike on the cliffs.

I never believed in the concept of "Work-life balance" and refused to accept a life in which I would count my remaining days of "paid leave". And I paid the price as a result. Insecurity and unstable income is the reality of managing your own business and working hard, although that was always followed by playing hard. Work and life are not separate in my belief system, there is only one united life. Part of this unified life is the work, which I have always adored. Whatever work I decided to pursue, I loved it, but if I felt like my enthusiasm was weakening, I did not fear to change it. I never had a day in my life when I would ask for a "no work today" and never needed one. I love getting calls on holidays and love the opportunity to solve a problem or find a solution to anything. This is where my energy comes from, so why would I restrain myself while having fun or travelling?

I spend all the school holidays with my wife and kids. My family is always with me, they are a part of my projects and business adventures. Together we travelled a big part of the world and there is surely more to come. For the last 30 years I have been spending more than 100 days per year travelling and exploring, including some trips that were work related as well. In the last three years, I guess the travelling was more than 200 days annually, but hey, we only get one life, so you have to enjoy it!
